Job Description

Build a subsurface characterization including detailed stratigraphic correlations and log interpretation and integration of petrology, petrophysics, geophysics and core interpretation
Coordinate the gathering of geological data and well information; evaluating the quality and relevance
Quantify the subsurface resource opportunity and translate into a drillable inventory
Participate in development and execution planning discussions as appropriate
Support capital program execution during the drilling and completion operations
Suggest innovative applications of new technologies or data collection techniques
Take a leadership role in driving technical work within the development team
Guide reserves booking process by providing required technical data
Assist optimization of base production and LOE through annual well reviews
Support ARO efforts through review of suspended wells within a designated area of responsibility
Help with mineral land tenure expiries and crown land sale acquisitions
Post-secondary degree in Geology with P.Geo designation
A minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience within the oil and gas industry
Experience in unconventional plays, including L48 and international exposure is preferred
Strong computer skills, with demonstrated experience in Petrel and other geological mapping software is required.
Proficiency with scripting is considered an asset
Familiarity with geochemistry and geo-mechanics principles is considered an asset

THE ROLE:
We’re expanding our Geology & Geophysics team and have an opportunity for a Development Geologist, located in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Director, G&G, the incumbent will contribute and provide guidance on key geological activities and interpretations for our Montney assets in NEBC. Responsibilities will also include assisting with building an integrated development plan and supporting the execution of a 50-100 well annual capital program.
