- Perform groundwater and surface water sampling.
- Provide on-site compliance monitoring of permitted activities.
- Oversee drilling and installation of wells, including lithologic logging and processing of soil samples.
- Collect and organize data from environmental monitoring instruments.
- Complete hydrogeology assessment work for contaminated sites (Phase 1’s and 2’s)
- Complete regional hydrogeology desktop studies to be reviewed by senior staff.
- Provide well installation oversight.
- Provide technical advice and consultancy on complex hydrogeological matters to clients and internal staff, including, analysis of designs and assessments, investigations and water quality studies for a variety of client types, including manufacturing, power and energy and mining industries.
- Support groundwater desktop studies, investigations, well installations and pump & hydraulic testing.
- Communicating extensively with ECT project leadership, including Principal Manager, other Project Managers and Partners in Charge, to drive field project execution, client communications, and establishment of client expectations around safety, work quality, and overall performance.
- BS in geology, environmental science, engineering or related field, with 5 or more years of experience. Other certifications and training will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel and Adobe software. ArcGIS and Google Earth experience desired.
- Ability to provide excellent client service and communication, contractor oversight, detailed project deliverables, project organization.
- Location for work primarily in Michigan, with willingness to travel out of state, if needed. Applicants should anticipate spending 50+% of their time in the field.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
ECT is seeking a Geologist/Hydrogeologist/Scientist to support opportunities mainly in the Great Lakes Area (based out of Michigan). In this role, the candidate will be part of a project team that may support clients’ needs for a variety of natural resources, due diligence and/or water resources projects. The candidate will team with project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers to execute work. The candidate will be responsible for field oversight portions of project work, writing reports, client communications and tracking budgets, expenses, and the definition of new scopes of work. The ideal individual would have 5 to 7+ years of experience working in the environmental and/or consulting industry.
