  The Geotechnical Driller Helper - Marine assists in performing routine and standard drilling techniques in obtaining soil samples in the safest and most cost-effective manner.

  Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in the Mobilization of drilling equipment as directed.

  • Ability to overhaul fluid end of mud pumps w/o supervision.

  • Thorough knowledge of tripping pipe on all company-owned rigs.

  • Ability to operate all company-owned forklifts, vehicles drilling rigs, tools, and pipe sizes.

  • Use of cutting torch and basic welding skills.

  • Knowledge of Blow out procedures.

  • Ability to operate tuggers and sampling winches.

  • Assists Driller in drilling operations of the rig by mixing mud, handling drill pipe, casing, and other equipment.

  • Performs and assists with maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work area as directed.

  • Engages in other related activities and special projects as may be required or assigned.

  • The employee will experience as much as if not more than 60% of field time. Some projects require the employee to be in the field in excess of 60 days on one tour.

  Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Industry-related experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, in accordance with Company and DOT policies.

  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel

  • Possess good mechanical and technical aptitude.

  • Have 0 - 12 months be equipment-oriented and understand the mechanics of drilling machinery.

  • Good communication skills, including verbal, written, and basic math skills.
