      Summary

      Position Highlights:

      • Supports the hospital mission and vision by providing excellent service to patients, visitors, hospital employees and all other gift shop customers. Maintains gift shop appearance and cleanliness. Promotes gift shop sales through product knowledge and customer interaction. Handles cash carefully and accurately

      Responsibilities:

      • Customer Service

      Each employee’s most important role is to provide exceptional customer service to every customer who enters the gift shop. This includes greeting every customer upon entry to the shop, thanking them for their purchase and inviting them back as they exit the shop. Gift shop employees must model the hospital's customer service standards in every interaction

      • Store Performance

      Every team member plays a role in store performance and all gift shop staff are responsible for meeting store performance objectives. The Store Manager will keep the entire team informed about any special events or promotions happening in the gift shop. It is the Sales Associate’s responsibility to follow the Corporate and Store Manager directions for supporting those events.

      • Store Appearance

      Each Sales Associate will be assigned certain tasks for each shift to ensure the store is clean and looks its best. Any time there is a lull in gift shop traffic, the store team should making sure all shelves are dusted, any trash is off the gift shop floor and spots are cleaned, items are organized displayed according to Corporate standards, and that the store is generally clean and tidy

      • Cash Management

      Each employee is responsible for his or her own cash handling. Every shift starts with the incoming employee counting down the register drawer to ensure accuracy. In the event of a shift change (with one employee leaving and a new employee coming in) the outgoing employee will count the drawer in the presence of the incoming employee (or Store Manager)

      Credentials and Qualifications:

        • High School Diploma
        • One (1) year cashier, general customer service, or related experience
        • Ability to utilize a computerized cash register system with training
