ProMedica Toledo Hospital is one of the largest acute-care facilities in the region. Our 794-bed hospital is staffed by more than 4,800 professional healthcare employees who serve a 27-county area throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. POSITION SUMMARY
To provide the desired level of service, this position is in continuous interaction with customers, co-workers and volunteers; therefore, the incumbent must demonstrate a friendly cooperative professional attitude at all times. Also, must operate the cash register according to departmental policies and procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Cashiers responsibility is to greet the customers, offer assistance and be courteous throughout the sale. (25%)
• Ensure accurate and efficient sales transactions with a good working knowledge of methods of payment and their substitutes for cash; electronic sales system; checks and rings all sales on proper keys, giving receipts for all sales and reconciles the register at close. (50%)
• Maintains a working knowledge of product lines, store layout and product location. Must be familiar with use and application of merchandise in order to provide reasonable assistance to customers. (5%)
• Observes all security policies and procedures. (5%)
• Develops a good working relationship with volunteers and co-workers, demonstrating cooperation and teamwork. (5%)
• Maintains shop in a neat, orderly fashion; shelving merchandise, restocking and dusting as appropriate. (10%)
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Skills: Requires the ability to make change, keep records accurately, operate a POS system, usually acquired through previous experience as a cashier.
• Years of Experience: 1+

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to move about the hospital and between workstations.
• Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to operate a cash register and calculators.
• Must be able to occasionally move, lift or carry medium weight materials.
