      Department Overview:

      MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider. We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50+ fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.

      Remote Work Eligibility Detail:

      On-site

      Anticipated Hours Per Week:

      5 to 18.5 hours per week.

      Schedule:

      Monday - Friday, 2 pm-6pm, hours vary by assigned sites and requested schedule.

      Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

      $16 hourly.

      Qualifications:

      Minimum Qualifications:

      High school graduate, dependable, interest in working with youth and positive attitude. Ability to attend mandatory training, meetings and scheduled work shifts.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      Two or more years working in an after-school youth setting or with program planning and environment design
      · Working knowledge of positive youth development.
      · Experience working with adolescents in group settings.
      · Experience working with economically and ethnically diverse populations.
      · Educational background in or experience in working with teachers and staff in an academic setting.
      · Experience in facilitating groups.
      · Strong organizational skills.
      · Strong verbal and written communication skills.
      · Ability to work as a team, take on a leadership role, and maintain a positive work environment, while supporting staff and enforcing program rules consistently

      GIRLS INC. EMPOWERS GIRLS TO SUCCEED BY PROVIDING TRUSTING MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS,A GIRLS-ONLY ENVIRONMENT, AND RESEARCH-BASED, HANDS-ON PROGRAMMING. GIRLS INC. INSPIRES GIRLS TO BE STRONG, SMART AND BOLD.

      Job Description & Duties:

      Facilitate daily programming for girls in MSCR elementary afterschool programs
      Work with a team to develop weekly plans and deliver Girls Inc curriculum
      Record and track participant data and attendance
