What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Research and format shapefiles for political boundaries
- Code and contribute to the Ballotpedia website as part of the Tech Team
- Participate in weekly one-on-one meetings to coordinate tasks and receive guidance
- Engage in specific training calls related to assigned projects
- Attend topical meetings or webinars to further enhance knowledge and skills
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a current student or recent graduate in a relevant field
- Basic knowledge of coding and data analysis
- Interest in civic engagement and the democratic process
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with GIS software or data visualization tools
- Familiarity with web design and database management
- Previous internship experience in technology or data-related fields
- Demonstrated interest in political science or civic technology
