      Overview

      The GIS Analyst will execute GIS projects related to ecological restoration, water resource solutions, and other projects within an ESRI enterprise system. This position will be based out of our Raleigh, NC office.

      What your day-to-day might look like?

      • Consults with project managers to develop solutions and workflows
      • Creates and implements SOP’s for GIS workflows
      • Provides support, training and technical assistance for all GIS users
      • Leads the development and documentation of geospatial standards and best practices
      • Works closely with the Geospatial Manager to identify training and technical needs as well as create, implement, and maintain Geospatial departmental procedures
      • Creating, updating, managing, and sharing GIS data in web and desktop environments
      • Use and configure ESRI products, GPS units, various smart devices, and UAVs for field data collection, management, analysis, and visualization
      • Synthesize scientific and non-scientific data into maps and visuals for various reports, permit applications, land negotiations, meetings, and presentations
      • Perform advanced site suitability and project impact analysis
      • Quickly and efficiently, perform large scale site searches to identify potential sites for various ecological offsets
      • Automates complex tasks
      • Configures intuitive web-based solutions for use by non-GIS experts
      • Assists with Enterprise GIS management

      Qualifications

      Minimum:

      • BS/BA
      • Two or more years’ experience with ArcGIS
      • Advanced knowledge of GIS software functionalities and deficiencies
      • Experience performing advanced GIS analysis to solve complex problems across multiple domains using innovative solutions
      • Advanced experience with geospatial data acquisition, manipulation, creation, integration, and management
      • Experience creating advanced workflows
      • Knowledge of automation through FME, ModelBuilder, scripting, and/or API's
      • Advanced spatial analysis and modeling
      • Ability to work in an adaptive and evolving environment
      • Good communication skills and able to train all levels
      • Ability to install and configure GIS software
      • Understanding of remote sensing techniques and sensors; image processing, storage, and distribution
      • Knowledge of terrain modeling and analysis

      Desired:

      • Master’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Sciences, or related field
      • Five years working with GIS, ESRI’s suite of products, and remote sensing applications
      • Familiarity with and basic knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and permits/approvals (e.g. CWA 404/401, NWP/IP, NPDES, ESA)
      • Experience in developing with Python
      • Experience with FieldMaps, QuickCapture, Survey123, and Story Maps
      • Experience creating custom web applications using ESRI’s app builders
      • Applied GIS experience within utility, engineering, and natural science field
      • Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
      • UAS Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
