- Input low-voltage electric design work orders into a GIS mapping system.
- Interpret electric design orders, as-built information, and field data for integration into GIS software.
- Maintain and update existing GIS data to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical support as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for team members and the public.
- Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other technical records as necessary.
- Assist with the training of co-workers and collaborate with teams to achieve project objectives.
- Promote an open exchange of information, maintaining professionalism, ethical standards, and cooperation.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and meeting deadlines.
- Associate’s degree in a related field, or 0-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Windows XP or later, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a group environment.
- Interest in learning new skills, systems, and procedures.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Proficiency in using CAD/GIS software for interpreting and inputting data.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and make independent decisions.
- Professionalism in attire, etiquette, punctuality, and overall conduct.
GIS / CAD Operator I
Employment Type: Contract through 05/15/2026 (High potential for extension)
Location: Grand Rapids, MI 49548
Work Schedule: Hybrid (On-site: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday | Remote: Wednesday, Friday)
Position Summary:
The GIS / CAD Operator I will be responsible for inputting low-voltage electric design work orders into a GIS mapping system, supporting the company’s efforts in maintaining accurate and up-to-date electric distribution data. This hybrid role requires the operator to work both on-site and remotely, collaborating with internal teams and customers to ensure quality and timely project completion.
