We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a GIS Specialist to be a part of our team delivering support to the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The position is full-time and on-site at the United States Coast Guard at the Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center in Norfolk, VA. The GIS Specialist is responsible for specialized technical and analytical geospatial assistance that will support the maintenance of an Enterprise GIS. The candidate will support data development, SDSFIE standards integration, and quality verification processes. They will assist in maintaining geospatial data in an enterprise GIS implementation, aid in the maintenance of the geodatabase, and apply technical and programmatic knowledge of GIS. They are responsible for on-site client coordination and tasking for staff.

      The following are requirements of the potential candidate:

      • An Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or technical school in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Geography, Information Systems or Environmental Management.
      • 5 years of experience in GIS with the ArcGIS Platform.
      • Experienced and knowledge in the implementation of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE).
      • Experience with GIS data development in a multi-user/enterprise environment.
      • Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) data collection process; field data collection methods, survey techniques and knowledge of accuracy standards.
      • Expert user of ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite.
      • Knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and Server-side software products: particularly the ability to manage a shared, multiuser geodatabase, as well as support for version-based GIS workflows involving simultaneous multiuser editing, distributed geodatabases, and historical archiving.
      • Experience in GIS for environmental, facilities, or planning support.
      • US Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain DHS Suitability
      • Able and willing to perform fieldwork.
      • Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems.
      • Excellent writing and communication skills.
