- Creates and maintains a sustainable property inventorying and mapping process for all WYDOT-owned land
- Researches WYDOT land records and adds geospatial data into GIS Software
- Research WYDOT records for the as-construction plans and upload into GIS
- Creates GIS polygons representing each WYDOT parcel
- Shows right-of-way limits for each state route and facility
- Creates specific attributes for each parcel
- Applies Right of Way design principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
- Examines deeds, deeds of trust, liens, judgments, easements, and plats/maps to determine ownership, encumbrances, and to verify legal descriptions
- Determines property lines
- Extracts and organizes data and performs quality control to ensure accuracy and completeness of all ownership data
- Researches source documents and/or coordinates with others to resolve missing or conflicting data and other anomalies
- Develops, improves, maintains, and performs quality control processes of the identification and tracking of ownership data
- Researches and verifies legal descriptions
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
- Knowledge of real estate terms, the ability to read plats, the ability to read legal descriptions and legal documents, etc.
- Knowledge of cartographic design fundamentals
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of theory, implementation, integration, and application of Geographic Information Systems, geospatial technologies, and Global Positioning Systems
- Knowledge of database management

- Internal candidates would be required to remain in the position for a minimum of one (1) year from their promotion date.
- Employees would only be eligible for one (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
- If the employee elects to downgrade through an active recruitment and/or appointment during the twelve (12) month period, they would be required to pay the bonus back.
