  Your duties may vary from client to client as we strive to tailor our services to meet each individual's unique needs. Our in-home care services allow many seniors to live in their homes, preserving their independence in a familiar environment. You will work directly with our senior clients and their families as a caregiver. You will have a daily care plan prepared by a care manager specific to your client's personal care and safety needs.

  Medical and Nursing Student Job Responsibilities

  Just like the patients you would care for as a nurse, each of our senior clients and their families have different needs. Daily responsibilities may include:

  MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE

  • Drive seniors to appointments, meetings, and church services.
  • Help seniors with their local West Valley shopping.
  • Go to lunch or grab an ice cream with your client.

  RESTORE DIGNITY

  • Assist with bathing and grooming to keep your client looking and feeling good.
  • Manage incontinence care to avoid embarrassment.
  • Perform light housekeeping to reduce stress at home.

  KEEP HEALTHY

  • Prepare meals to maintain vitality.
  • Provide medication reminders to avoid hospital readmissions.
  • Ensure safety with memory care practices.

  SUPPORT OTHERS

  • Assist with rehabilitation and physical therapy exercises.
  • Support hospice care by being attentive and observant.
  • Report changes in condition to the case manager.

  Requirements

  To be considered for our student caregiver positions, you must meet the following requirements:

  HEART FOR SENIORS:

  • Have a genuine desire to work with seniors.

  ABILITY TO WORK:

  • Typically 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts in the Glendale area.
  • Ability to work around your school schedule.
  • Optional overtime often available.

  SENIOR SAFETY:

  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Pass a drug screening test.
  • Negative TB test.

  TRANSPORTATION:

  • Reliable car.
  • Proof of auto insurance.
  • Valid driver's license.
