- Develop and execute SBT roadmap across client’s global portfolio, working collaboratively with stakeholders to successfully implement program and initiatives to reach client’s objectives.
- Prioritize the suite of mechanisms to drive carbon reduction – including asset optimization, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon removal strategies – working with management, engineers, vendors, and strategic partners. Develop and recommend procurement strategies to help them achieve client’s objectives cost-effectively.
- Be the single point of contact for all aspects of the strategy and tactical delivery of the program of interventions identified in the SBT roadmap.
- Be accountable and responsible for the complete end-to-end lifecycle of the program delivery and implementation.
- Act as the key interface for real estate leadership, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Sustainability, Design and Construction, Facilities Management, and Sustainability teams to drive delivery of the program at pace, communicating successes and challenges along the way to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand opportunities and challenges to the program, build consensus, and translate those into a robust program approach and framework.
- Act as an advocate for the vision of the program and speak on the benefits. Balance business needs with corporate goals, adjusting strategies where possible and tempering expectations when necessary.
- Manage the process of change, ensuring there are tools, processes, and mechanisms to maintain, update, and communicate changes.
- Develop and implement appropriate governance structure for SBT program – including communications on strategies, plans, and progress toward goals using the appropriate metrics or KPIs to all levels of staff.
- Maintain a regular publishing schedule of key information supported by review sessions with stakeholders.
- Understand downstream impacts of changes to the standards on partner organizations and mitigate accordingly (i.e. technology, security, amenities, etc.)
- Maintain awareness of global SBT trends, tools, and metrics, and support integration of sustainability best practices into client’s sustainability program.
- Access current policies and processes, identify gaps to SBT best practice, and drive improvement including drafting of new policies.
- Develop community engagement and outreach programs aligned with the client’s SBT goals – including climate-related employee volunteering events.
- Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on SBT requests.

The Global Science-Based Target (SBT) Program Manager is responsible for developing and implementing science-based target programs to help our client achieve their ambitious decarbonization goals and targets. To seamlessly deliver the client’s SBT Program and achieve targets, you will work closely with sustainability and operational teams including facility managers, engineering managers, building operating engineers, vendors, and strategic partners. You will also be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting SBT performance. Finally, you will also monitor and report key decarbonization trends globally to support continuous improvement of the client’s SBT program.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree: In fields such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related fields.
Master's Degree (preferred but not mandatory): Master's in Environmental Management, Sustainable Business, MBA with a focus on sustainability, or related fields.
Professional Certifications:
Science-Based Targets (SBT) Certification: To ensure deep knowledge of the specific methodologies and approaches within the SBT initiative.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2: This would be beneficial given the emphasis on program delivery and implementation.
Certified Energy Manager (CEM): This can be beneficial for understanding energy efficiency aspects.
LEED or BREEAM Accredited Professional: Given the interface with real estate, design, and construction teams.
Experience Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sustainability roles, with a focus on carbon reduction and SBT implementation.
Program Management: Proven track record in overseeing large-scale programs, from conception to delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in working collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders, from technical to executive levels.
Change Management: Experience in driving change within an organization, with a focus on sustainability transformations.
Procurement Strategy: Demonstrated ability in developing and executing procurement strategies, particularly around sustainable and renewable resources.
Skills & Competencies:
Analytical Skills: Ability to prioritize and drive carbon reduction mechanisms effectively.
Leadership: Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive consensus, and be the face of the initiative.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with various levels of the organization.
Advocacy: Ability to champion and advocate for the program's vision and benefits.
Global Awareness: Stay updated with global SBT trends and integrate best practices.
Outreach & Community Engagement: Demonstrated experience or ability in developing community engagement programs.
Educational Skills: Ability to act as the subject matter expert and educate stakeholders on complex topics.
Other Requirements:
Travel: Depending on the client's global portfolio, there might be a need for occasional travel.
Continuous Learning: Given the rapidly evolving nature of sustainability and carbon reduction, a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and practices is essential.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
