    • A valid professional teacher’s license with grades 7-12 English, 7-12 Math, or CTE (Academic or Occupational) endorsement preferred
    • Master’s Degree with an endorsement in Educational Administration/Supervision
    • Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher in subject area appropriate to position

    • Serves as an instructional leader in developing, implementing and supporting curriculum and instructional programs aligned to district goals and student need
    • Provides direct support to teachers through professional learning and the development of effective instructional and assessment strategies
    • Coordinates and facilitates ongoing professional development, in-service training, and orientation programs to strengthen instructional capacity across secondary schools.
    • Collaborates with school administrators, lead teachers, and Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) to embed school-wide academic initiatives and promote continuous improvement in instructional practice
    • Serves as a liaison between the Teaching, Learning, and Assessment department and school-based administrators on secondary curriculum and instructional priorities
    • Provides assistance to professional personnel and/or community representatives regarding secondary curriculum and instructional programs
    • Assists the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in preparing reports required by the State Department of Education and other agencies
    • Assists the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in disaggregating student data, identifying student needs, selecting textbooks and materials, and establishing program goals
    • Improves professional skills and knowledge, assumes educational leadership roles, and performs duties in a professional, honest, and responsible manner
    • Performs such other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment
    • Be prepared to perform the job in accordance with an evaluation plan as established by the District and approved by the State Department of Education

    • Proficient in the use of computers to include spreadsheet, database and word processing applications

    • Job Title: Secondary Instructional Supervisor (FLSA: Exempt)

      Job Objectives: Germantown Municipal School District’s Secondary Instructional Supervisor is expected to achieve and maintain standards of excellence in secondary curriculum development and implementation.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Content Area and Program Oversight:
      This position will provide instructional supervision for select secondary content areas based on departmental needs and strengths. Possible content area assignments include English Language Arts, Social Studies, World Language, Math, or Science.

      Additionally, the position will include leadership of one of the following strategic areas:
      • Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming, including expanding community partnerships and work-based learning, managing Perkins funding and related grants, budget planning, and overseeing purchases that support high quality career pathways.

      The Instructional Supervisor maintains a forty-hour (40) work week and works additional hours as required to carry out all of the duties and responsibilities of the position. This is a twelve (12) month position.
