      Initial Hiring Range : $12.73 - $14.00/hr
      Full Range : $12.73 - $19.27/hr

      In addition to base salary, this PART-TIME position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.

      Description :
      Assists the Assistant Golf Professionals and Pro Shop Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the Smyrna Golf Shop while providing exceptional customer service, and managing merchandise sales. Reports to Golf Shop Manager.The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job. Other duties may be required and assigned.

      • Welcomes and Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner and conducts behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on customer’s perception of town facility.
      • Serves customers to ensure satisfaction. Assists customers with their purchases by locating specific golf related merchandise, answers inquiries, provides recommendations and information on price, use, and availability.
      • Rings up sales on cash register. Receives money, issues change and receipt, and bags merchandise. Counts cash register money and balances with receipts on a scheduled basis.
      • Follows cash procedures, and performs other established accounting procedures relative to day-to-day operations.
      • Arranges and straightens merchandise displays in an attractive manner. Features current, popular or other saleable items. Tags sale merchandise.
      • Takes inventory of stocked items and records results. Notifies Assistant Golf Professional of inventory shortages.
      • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of golf shop, restrooms, clubhouse areas, displays, shelves, fixtures and work areas. Sweeps and mops floors, dusts furniture, empties wastebasket, etc.
      • Handles service requests by customers including riding cart, pull cart, and golf club rentals; tee time reservations, handicaps, golf club repair requests, general information requests, special event inquiries, etc.
      • Promote the teamwork environment. Assists coworkers when necessary.
      • Maintains knowledge of golf products and industry trends to provide informed recommendations to customers as well as the principles and practices related to the game of Golf.
      • Provides coverage in absence of other personnel.
      • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
      • Minimum of 18 years of age.
      • High School diploma or GED
      PERFORMANCE APTITUDES
      Data Utilization: Requires the ability to calculate data. May also require ability to perform subsequent actions in relation to computational procedures. Requires knowledge of principles and practice relating to customer service and golf equipment, clothing, and other products and to the game of golf.
      Human Interaction: Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be able to conduct oneself with professionalism and tact in interacting with patrons, as well as other Town employees. Must be able to develop and maintain positive/effective working relations with associates, customers, and general public.
      Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Material Utilization: Operates computer, printer, various office machines (phone, calculator, copier, etc.), point of sale computer, inventory program, handicap program, cash register, golf equipment, golf cart, and alarm system.
      Verbal Aptitude: Ability to express ideas and information clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
      Mathematical Aptitude: Must have basic mathematical aptitude. Required abilities may include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, and percent, the ability to interpret data in various forms such as graphs, charts, etc.
      Functional Reasoning: Ability to apply basic supervisory principles to practical work situations. Ability to arrange items in alphabetical, numerical and subject order. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.
      Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
      ADA COMPLIANCE
      Physical Ability: Must have the dexterity and fitness sufficient to safely and proficiently operate, utilize, and maintain equipment and tools related to tasks. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, crawl, stretch, and lift 25 lbs. or at times greater weights. Frequently required to walk and use hands to hold and control sporting or gardening equipment. Requires the ability to balance multiple tasks concurrently under limited supervision. Heavy customer service element; requiring patience, as well as interpersonal skills.
      Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
      Environmental Factors: Normal Golf clubhouse and office working conditions, with field environment as well. Work hours are varied requiring work on evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Limited exposure to elements of nature including extreme heat or cold, rain, snow, and other unfavorable weather conditions. Working conditions are golf clubhouse environment as well as the field environment with little exposure to dust, heat, cold, rain and other inclement weather conditions.
