The GOM Petrophysicist will be part of the GOM Asset Dev ST Petrophysics Department and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans. - Participate in the planning and execution of formation evaluation programs to optimize project team objectives, particularly as a critical member of deepwater integrated project teams. - Provide operational petrophysical support to wells drilling within areas of responsibility. - Apply petrophysical interpretation techniques using state-of-the-art technology and mentor others in the deployment of advanced techniques. - Undertake petrophysical regional studies to support exploration and development teams in their efforts to evaluate new basins/plays and improve reservoir characterization of strategic assets. - Interface with logging and coring vendors as part of providing petrophysical support for the business units. - Keep up with current and leading logging (wireline and LWD) technologies and recommend their applications where appropriate. - Provide support for pore pressure and fracture gradient analysis - Interface with asset/exploration team and Petrophysics department to maximize knowledge and technology transfer.
