The GOM Subsea Operations Engineer will be part of the GOM Prod Engineering Subsea Department and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business Uni t in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans. • Serve as primary point of contact for one of more offshore facilities supporting subsea system operational issues and interfaces • Identify and coordinate investigation of anomalies and failures within subsea control and production systems and maintain historic records in the Asset Tracking Register database • Manage troubleshooting and light intervention work scopes including scheduling, cost management, procedure development, and execution • Work closely with production engineers and offshore operations to identify areas of improvement, including subsea hardware, control systems, and operator HMI and software interfaces • Conduct surveillance of the subsea system through data trends and analysis (SEEQ) and interaction with the production and operations teams • Recommend subsea system improvements or upgrades, and prepare and present the value case to receive project approval from stakeholders • Participate within internal and external multi-discipline engineering reviews and risk reviews • Contribute to development and / or implementation of subsea system obsolescence management strategies • Review Subsea Leak Detection System (SSLD) working closely with offshore operations team, production engineer, and subsea facilities engineer to assess and close out alarms as well as implement performance and infrastructure based system updates • Develop and provide training on subsea equipment and hardware to offshore production operations teams • Establish & maintain strong relationships with 3rd party contractors and offshore operations teams to enable safe and effective project deliveries and problem resolution • Provide leadership for top tier HSE performance, demonstrating Oxy LiveSafe values • Communicate project performance to stakeholdersAbout the company
