      Position Overview:

      We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and motivated Government Affairs & Engagement Manager with a consistent record of executing strategic government affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies to deliver high quality, impactful business, and policy priorities.

      The role will require expertise in leadership, strategy development and campaign execution in government affairs, policy change, stakeholder relations, patient group engagement and issues management with understanding of digital communications and media relations preferred. The successful candidate will develop and implement a strategic government affairs and stakeholder engagement strategy to support the development of and appropriate access and uptake of our company medicines and vaccines in Ireland while protecting our reputation.

      Key Activities:

      • Strategic programme development and implementation of Our government relations strategy, stakeholder mapping and engagement plans and communications activities
      • Monitor the political landscape and proceedings of relevant legislative bodies including the Dáil and EU Commission and provide analysis of key developments to internal stakeholders.
      • Organise & support strategic briefings with Oireachtas Members, Department Officials, and industry representatives’ groups.
      • Provide counsel and prepare briefing materials for senior leaders to support external engagement with different parties.
      • Manage protocols and events including preparing Ministerial briefing notes, speeches and coordinating a broad range of external stakeholders.
      • Help develop Our Irish profile and provide representation at conferences, events, and seminars, disseminate across social media platforms and contribute to strategic policy debates.
      • Leveraging Ireland’s role as a leading market within our company, leading and sharing pathfinding work, shaping global strategy, and optimising global resources to benefit patients.

      Knowledge Required:

      • 6 years + of political, policy and / or communications experience – to ideally include pharmaceutical industry and/or health public affairs agency experience.
      • Understanding of the health policy and pharmaceutical industry environment, and the levers for influencing environmental change.
      • Experience and good personal networks in market access institutions, professional, policy, political and HSE audiences.
      • Proven track record of engaging with key stakeholders including with Oireachtas Members and Department officials
      • Strong business acumen and solution orientated mindset
