What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Maintain a strong network of key policymakers to advocate GEICO's positions
- Quickly understand state legislative and regulatory proposals and their impacts
- Develop policy positions, strategies, and responses for legislative and regulatory interactions
- Maximize outside firms and association memberships to advocate GEICO's priorities
- Develop and execute effective political contributions strategies in assigned states
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant government affairs experience with knowledge of insurance industry
- Demonstrated ability to interact with regulators and state legislators
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Juris doctorate preferred but not mandatory
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Property/casualty insurance experience, including knowledge of auto insurance laws and regulations
- Client-service oriented and enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
