GP Contact Lens Consultant I JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Summary: This position is responsible for consulting with the ABB Optical Group customer base by responding to technical questions and providing guidance for lens design and fitting techniques. To guide practitioners with GP and custom soft lens fitting and customer service. This position is remote. Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned: - Verify contact lens history and visual acuities
- Determine proper contact lens parameters based on ECP Examination findings for available designs excluding scleral lenses
- Custom design unique contact lens for medically indicated patients for available designs excluding scleral lenses
- Identify and resolve contact lens fitting challenges thru conversation, email, video and / or pictures
- Advise accounts on the design of lenses for their patients based on ECP initial examination findings and/or diagnostic fit.
- Suggest designs and materials best suited for the patient.
- Advise and educate accounts on new designs.
- Make recommendations to customers on best practices.
- Assist with GP customer service-related calls
- Assist and support GP Management and/or Level 3 or higher Consultants in preparing articles for publishing and/or instruction at trade shows and education seminars/lectures.
- Assist with developing and managing a customer base, providing industry and product updates.
- Partner with Account Executives to maximize account usage of GP, custom soft and strategic products, providing a more comprehensive understanding of GP lenses.
- Attend educational seminars, industry lectures and self-study courses to achieve NCLE certification within the 1st year of employment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications and Skills - High school diploma or equivalent
- Acquire NCLE certification within the 1st year of employment
- 3 years in-person customer service experience, in optometry, ophthalmology or other eyecare related fields
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical services, fitting, or lens design environment.
- Knowledge of current contact lens technology and lens designs with emphasis on Gas Permeable, soft custom and Ortho K
- Understanding of contact lens evaluation and fitting tools such as Keratometer, Slit Lamp and the Illuminations, topography, and a basic understanding of Fluorescein patterns
- Basic Understanding of Fluorescein Patterns / Topographical Maps / OCT and other diagnostic tools
- Understanding / Hands on experience of Lensometer, Radiuscope, Diameter Ruler, Dial Gauge, Vigors Loop
- Understanding of contact lens disinfection and care, application and removal techniques and general compliance techniques for soft and GP lenses
For US Candidates The anticipated base pay range for this position is $49,050 - $62,400 Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
