Job summary
The practice is looking for a short term maternity locum GP with a provisional start date of September 2025. The positions will be 2 sessions per week on Mondays only, for a contract term of 3 months.
We offer 6 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave pro rata.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be joining a forward-looking and well-supported clinical team. Our training practice in Kentish Town has ten GPs, a nursing and ARRS team including Pharmacists and Physician Associates serving 9000 patients. We have an excellent admin and IT support team and we are based in new purpose-built premises with superb clinical areas, staff facilities and meeting rooms.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
In accordance with the practice rota, the post holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including F2F, telephone and electronic consultations and queries, carrying out home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, results, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and developing care plans for health management
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Management of chronic long term conditions e.g. asthma, diabetes and providing counselling and health education.
Making appropriate and timely referral of patients for further opinions and treatment
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards including the recording of appropriate information for QOF
Prescribing in accordance with practice, local and national guidelines as clinically appropriate
Collecting data for audit purposes
Timely assessment of incoming electronic and paper correspondence relating to both patient and non-patient information as required
In general the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care and any other duties reasonably required by the practice
