- To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
- To work in accordance of written protocols
- Fax and photocopy as requested
- Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team
- Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
- Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients, practice team, hospital and visitors or refer to appropriate person
- Process appointment requests for today future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
- Deal with visits requests
- Ensure effectiveness of appointment system and monitoring flow of patients in the surgery.
- Making full use of practice computer system taking into account protocols
- Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.
- Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours.
- Answer the telephone and make calls as required in a polite manner, taking messages as necessary and as directed
- Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
- Any other tasks allocated by managers

Job summary
Harlequin Surgery supports the health needs of approx 10k residents in our local community. We require a flexible Receptionist to support our existing team of receptionists. If you have excellent telephone and communication skills as well as being a good team player we would like to hear from you. Experience of SystmOne would be an advantage, however, training will be provided to the successful candidates. Flexibility is essential to cover for holidays and absence.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis. To ensure that inquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the partners and patients.
