      Job summary

      Responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

      Main duties of the job

      a. Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.

      b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments

      c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.

      d. Signpost patients to the correct service

      e. The management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.

      f. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies

      g. Clinically code data on Systm1

      h. Photocopy documentation as required.

      i. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required.

      j. Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary

      k. Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team

      l. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.

      m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.

      n. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards.

      o. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.

      p. Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary

      q. Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients records.

      r. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty Rota.

      About us

      The Bridge Group Practice works within two purpose built premises in the West and North Hull. We serve 8500+ patients, we are part of the NEXUS Primary Care Network, comprising of 4 local practices.

      We are a GMS practice. Our clinical software is Systm One and we are paper light. We achieve highly in QOF and provide a range of Enhanced Services. Our C.Q.C. inspection in 2016 was rated GOOD but, our main strengths lie in our commitment to the ideals of a traditional family practice with strong ties in our local population and good working relationship with our neighboring practices.

      We have an Advanced Nurse Prescriber, and a Nurse Practitioner In addition we have two highly motivated and experienced nurses who, along with our two health care assistants take care of much of our long term conditions monitoring. The practice is fortunate in having excellent administration and reception staff at both sites
