Job summary
Pimlico Health at the Marven is a well-established innovative general practice based in Pimlico. We provide an array of NHS services to our practice population of 14,500 from very modern premises. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our administration/call handling team. Someone with excellent communication skills aligned to a professional attitude with an outgoing, friendly personality.
This will be a part time role, with various shift times including 12-6:30pm.
Main duties of the job
Book appointments for patients via the telephone once you have established their clinical need and actively signposted them to the most appropriate clinician.
Deal with patients on a face to face basis when they arrive at the practice and be polite and courteous at all times.
Answer telephone calls and book patients in for same day appointments.
Book appointments for patients who present at the reception desk as required.
Deal with patient telephone enquiries as and when they arise.
Welcome and appropriately advise patients of the services within the practice.
Undertake administration duties as and when instructed.
Contact patients when required to book appointments relating to recall schedules.
Be flexible and work with the team to cover holidays and sickness as required
Keep up to date with allocated tasks via system one.
Ensure emails are read and acted upon.
Liaise with clinicians and other staff as necessary
Play an integral role in educating patients about changes happening in primary care, and how this may affect their care, offering suitable alternatives where appropriate by way of care navigation.
Create a positive image of the practice.
Be an active and supportive member of the reception team and the whole practice team
Undertake mandatory training as per the practice training plan.
Other duties as directed by the partners, the business manager or operations manager
About us
We are a longstanding NHS GP Practice proudly serving the Pimlico and Westminster communities. With over 14,000 registered patients predominantly from our local catchment area, we provide a wide range of dedicated healthcare services including diabetes management, paediatric clinics, chronic disease management, and a home visiting service.
Our practice collaborates closely with local NHS partners such as Westminster ONE, Healthshare, the community mental health team, and is an active member of the South Westminster (PCN). PCNs across England bring together GP practices, community services, mental health, social care, pharmacy, hospital, and voluntary services to deliver accessible, high-quality healthcare while optimising NHS resources and reducing barriers to care.
