      Main duties of the job

      In this role, youll be using your clinical expertise to support patients in a variety of ways. From managing chronic diseases like asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, to offering womens health services such as smears and contraception, youll play a key role in delivering essential care. Youll also have the chance to provide vaccinations and carry out treatments such as wound care, ECGs, and ear syringing. We believe in empowering our nurses, so youll be encouraged to take the lead in health promotion, including NHS health checks, smoking cessation, and sexual health testing. Youll be an integral member of a dedicated and supportive multidisciplinary team, ensuring that nursing services are delivered effectively to meet the needs of our diverse patient population.       • Infection Prevention and Control (IPC): Support the IPC lead by assisting with audits, training, and ensuring compliance with IPC guidelines. Help prepare and publish the IPC annual statement.

      • Chronic Disease Management: Provide care for patients with chronic conditions, ensuring treatment plans are effective and based on current evidence. This includes managing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and COPD, with a focus on prevention and health promotion.

      • Minor Surgery Assistance: Assist GPs in minor surgeries, ensuring patients are cared for before, during, and after procedures.

      • Mental Health Support: Recognise and assess patients with mental health needs, providing appropriate support and referring to specialist services where necessary.

      • Clinical Record Keeping: Ensure that patient records are accurately maintained in line with legal and clinical guidelines, including using SNOMED CT codes to ensure easy retrieval of patient data.

      • Patient Support: Liaise with external agencies and healthcare providers to ensure vulnerable patients are fully supported and receive comprehensive care.
