      Job Description

      Overview

      The Supervisor GPO Plant is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of Stryker Creek Steam Electric Station. The Stryker Creek facility has (2) gas/oil fired drum type steam generating units and five (5) diesel generators with a total generating capacity of 685MW.

      Responsibilities

      • Supporting all aspects of the day–to-day operation and maintenance of a gas fired generating station
      • Accountability can include supervising and directing multi-skill production and maintenance support personnel to achieve maximum reliable and safe operation of the generating units
      • Effectively manage employee/labor relation in accordance with company policies and labor agreements
      • Ensure and monitor safety and environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, administrative and procedural compliance, and documentation
      • Assist in the coordination and implementation of special projects
      • Supervisor may be asked to respond to emergency call out situations and assist in trouble shooting of system problems
      • Interface frequently with outside vendors and contractors
      • Ensuring plant compliance to B&M, FM Global compliance, NERC, GADS, Weather Preparedness, etc.
      • All other duties as assigned.


      Requirements

      • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
      • 5-7 years of power generation plant experience
      • Candidate must be experienced in using Maximo for planning work, creating purchase requests, and creating job plans
      • Candidate must be experienced in WST, the preferred scheduling tool used by Luminant

      Preferred Experience:

      • Experience with operations and maintenance at a power plant particularly control operator experience on a unit with a drum boiler
      • Technical background or Instrumentation and Control background is a plus
      • Experience in GADS, NERC compliance, B&M, FM Global compliance, Weather Preparedness compliance, etc.
      • Power generation plant supervision, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills
      • Good computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook
      • Experience in computer maintenance management systems and an understanding of PMMS and/or Maximo programs

        Physical / Mental demands and working conditions:

        This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the

        following environment:

      • Occasional long and irregular hours (including being available for call outs on days, nights and weekends)
      • Must comply with the Luminant Respirator Policy
      • Enter and work in confined spaces
      • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
      • Occasionally work in wet, cold, hot, and dusty conditions
      • Must be able to handle difficult situations under stress
