Other Conditions: Duration of appointment June 16, 2024-December 31, 2024. Renewable annually pending satisfactory work and academic performance and availability of funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Computer aided design of systems and components for biosecurity applications, potentially including instruments for molecular diagnostics/sensors, embedded surveillance systems for invasive organisms, customized mechanical actuators for agricultural equipment, data management and automated object detection from field data, and working with a team on all aspects of systems integration for applied operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate standing in (or qualification with pending admission to) an Engineering program with experience in systems design and integration - preferably Electrical and Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with Computer Aided Design (3D component/assembly design as well as PCB design and layout), PCB assembly, Mechanical fabrication and assembly, software design/development, web development.
