      Duties & Responsibilities
      1. Work under the supervision and guidance of the Director for the Center of Korean Studies
      2. Assist with research and academic activities that largely fall under the umbrella of the ongoing Academy of Korean Studies Strategic Research Initiatives Grant that focuses on a wide diversity of projects related to Korean studies.
      3. Prepare existing materials for record and future projects. Collect data from diverse sources and through international cooperations.
      4. Assist with publications (publishing conference proceedings, journal articles and edited volumes in the areas of the projects).
      5. Communicate and assist with prospective participants in the forthcoming lectures, workshops, and conferences.
      6. Other duties as assigned by the Director and permanent staff.

      Minimum Qualifications
      1. Full-time classified graduate student, in good academic standing, at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
      2. B.A. degree in Arts & Sciences, Social Work, Business, or related field.
      3. Demonstrated editing skills.
      4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and graphic software for design.
      5. Able to work both independently, efficiently and reliably with the research team.
      6. Must be available some evenings and weekends when necessary.

      Desired Qualifications
      1. Knowledge of the current situation in Korea's linguistic diversity.
      2. Knowledge of Korean cultural and biological diversity (e.g., k-pop, k-drama, health).
      3. Knowledge of Korean diaspora and immigration to Hawaii.
      4. Bilingual in both Korean and English or fluency in one language and language proficiency
      (reading and writing) and fluency in speaking (vocabulary and grammar) at the 3rd year
      level in the other.
