      Job Summary We are currently seeking to recruit 2X Graduate Geologist to join our highly dynamic workforce at our Simberi Operations in New Ireland Province. This is an exciting time to join Simberi & St Barbara as we embark on our “Building Brilliance” journey to transform the business and deliver sustainable value. This is a FIFO position; the roster is a 15/13 roster. Point of Hire is restricted to Kavieng/Rabaul/Port Moresby/Lae/Mt Hagen/Kimbe/Goroka/Popondetta/Madang/Buka/Wapenamanda/Alotau or Tabar group of Islands. (Locals are encouraged to apply) The Role The Graduate Geologist reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist and the primary role is to provide effective collection, coordination and communication of geological data within the Geology team and to the Mine Technical Services Planning and Mining Operations Teams for production planning/execution, scheduling and mine design. Key responsibilities include: Technical accountabilities * Monitoring and minimising dilution impacts on ore block digging, ensuring ore delivery to correct destination. * Ensuring compliance to blend plan and reporting any deviations to plan. * Monitoring ROM stockpile control and feed to Mill as per blend plan. * Completing post-blast mapping on benches and wall batters to designated KPI requirements, maintaining both quality and quantity standards. * Visiting RC rigs daily, completing safety observations and ensuring sound QAQC for sampling collection and recording. * Completing RC chip logging duties and data upload. * Ensuring QAQC on daily data analysis and deliverables. * Meeting the Grade Control deliverables for weekly and monthly planning schedules. Learning and Development * Ensuring Technical and Operations team engagement across Grade Control requirements within the planning cycle. * Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements and taking appropriate professional development actions. Qualifications, skills, and experience required: * Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values * Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months) for site access purposes. * Bachelor’s Degree in Geology related discipline. * Current unencumbered Driver’s Licence * Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team. * A high level of written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to plan and work effectively and efficiently and with a minimum of supervision. * High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals About Us This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and motivated team of industry professionals with considerable experience in the demands and practices of the mining industry.
