      MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
      The Industrial Hygiene Intern will assist Delta’s Manager of Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene with occupational air sampling, noise monitoring, heat stress evaluation, water testing, ergonomic evaluations, and other assessments of the workplace and passenger environment.

      Broad Scope of Position:
      Assist Environmental Health staff with various Industrial Hygiene projects within Delta’s maintenance, airport, in-flight, reservations, and other support operations.

      Full time through Spring: Occasional night or weekend work may be required. Ideal applicant will be able to work part-time during school year. Some overnight travel required.

      What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

      The successful applicant will have, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University and be seeking a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health or a related field. Work experience is not required for this entry level internship.

      Applicants must be able to:
      • Work with minimal supervision and direction
      • Balance multiple assignments
      • Handle confidential material appropriately
      • Demonstrate strong technical written and oral communication skills
      • Interact with internal and external customers of all levels
      • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel, andhave experience with data management
      • Function effectively in high pressure situations
      • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
      • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
      • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
      • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
