Provide front-line student support by monitoring general TGS email addresses, main TGS phone line and the lobby/reception desk; respond to inquiries made via phone, email and in person.
Assist students, faculty, and staff by providing information regarding myriad Graduate School services, processes and procedures.
Provide TGS managers with ongoing information about trends, themes, and data regarding the type and frequency of inquiries.
Respond to matriculated students inquires regarding matters related to policies, processes, coursework, graduation, and other student issues.
Maintain current knowledge of TGS’s policies and procedures in order to to accurately respond to inquiries.
Assist faculty members and staff members from other administrative units with TGS processes and procedures.
Assist the TGS professional staff with the coordination of support services and communication to multiple constituencies including students, Graduate Program Coordinators, Doctoral Program Directors, Department Administrators, and student support units such as Registrar, Student Accounts, and Dean of Students Office by providing administrative support.
Assist in coordinating special events including but not limited to planning, promotion, execution and follow-up for current students.
Support the Student Support Coordinator with the Graduate Assistantship program; perform data entry in GAS, respond to student and faculty questions through knowledge of recruitment and selection procedures, the GA System, and the policies and procedures that govern GA and DA terms of employment, including limits on hours worked, applying for I-9, and more.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree. Applicants who do not posses the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and support multiple staff/student/faculty requests.
Understanding of Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher), email knowledge, and familiarity of internet resources.
Ability to learn and effectively use database systems such as SLATE, Banner, DegreeWorks, etc.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor, and a willingness to collaborate with others.
An appreciation for, and active support of, a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Minimum of 2 years of experience providing programmatic support and services in an educational setting.

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Affairs, the Graduate Student Services Generalist serves as the initial point of contact in TGS providing information and support to TGS constituencies, as well as providing assistance to the Student Affairs Professional team for administrative and academic functions.
