      The OrthoCarolina Research Institute (OCRI) is an independent, non-profit 501(c)3 uniquely positioned as both an academic research center and clinical research site servicing industry research. Research conducted at the OrthoCarolina Research Institute allows the physicians of OrthoCarolina,PA to offer the best available options, treatments, and cost savings identified through evidence-based research. Our research findings are repeatedly published worldwide for the betterment of orthopedics.

      We are currently searching for a Medical Grant Writer to work with our OrthoCarolina Research Institute (OCRI) team in the Charlotte office location.

      The OCRI Medical Grant Writer will research opportunities, develop partnerships with key stakeholders and write full proposals to generate operational revenue to impact and further the mission of the OrthoCaroline Research Institute. This individual is dedicated to mission of advancing orthopedic research and education and should have excellent research and communication skills and an ability to connect the organizations mission to the needs of the funder. Duties include:

      • Responsible for all aspects of raising support from foundations, government or society funding sources
      • Research and planning: identify prospects and develop effective solicitation strategies to secure funding for priority initiatives
      • Write and coordinate full grant proposals and reports to foundations, societies and government determined by the grants calendar and reporting requirements
      • Garner information to be incorporated into case statements, letters of intent, proposals and reports from key stakeholders.
      • Works to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships that will result in funding for immediate and long-term goals
      • Foster the growth and implementation of best practices for all grant related functions, including proposal writing, budget development and data integrity
      • Strategically link institution and programmatic initiatives with opportunities for fundraising
      • Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.

      Education/Experience required:

      • Bachelors degree required; Master’s degree preferred with a minimum of 2 years of experience and provable track record in successful grant research and writing.
      • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders including physicians, administration, other staff, and funders
      • Demonstration of attention to detail, accuracy and excellent organization.
      • Ability to prioritize tasks and to work under pressure and deadlines.
