- Collaborate with engineers to extract key data from wargaming simulations and create visually stunning, technically accurate products
- Develop 3D animations, infographics, and maps that illustrate complex engineering principles and system capabilities
- Work with Mission Assessments leadership to plan, status, and complete visual products on time
- Promote innovative ideas and stylistic designs to simplify the presentation of challenging data products
- Modify existing model geometry and texture maps, and create new ones based on reference materials
- Hybrid work format possible, with time split between working onsite and remotely
- Remote work may be an option, at the discretion of the business
- Typically, a bachelor's degree in a technical or creative field and 8 years work experience, or equivalent experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing technical animation and creative infographics (publication production quality) to summarize complex concepts and support assessment reporting
- Knowledge of mainstream 3D modeling and digital content creation apps (e.g. Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, etc.) and desire to learn and adapt to new software tools and techniques
- Experience using 3D modeling to produce finished products (blueprinting, material development, texturing, environment creation, post-processing).
- Experience developing 3D design & animation workflows
- Active Secret DoD clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
- The candidate will have critical thinking skills that will be exercised across multiple levels of detail.
- Technical interest in wargaming and understanding military capabilities
- Experience or exposure to relevant Scientific Data Visualization work
- Familiarity with digital engineering products and data
- Formal design education or relevant engineering degree
- Certifications and/or active membership in relevant design communities
- Experience in virtual filmmaking and motion graphics final products (shorts, 3-5 min)
- Ability to relocate to New Hampshire or Massachusetts (or regular travel to BAE Systems locations)
- Top Secret clearance is a plus

The Mission Assessments organization was created to address the rapidly increasing demand for mission-level operational analysis. Our mission is to achieve excellence in multidomain (MDO), systems-of-systems (SoS) Mission Assessments and effectively communicate the value of BAE Systems products to customers, DoD leadership and the warfighter. To do this we must bring together models of advanced technologies, weapons, platforms, and threats in relevant mission simulations – and then apply our deep subject matter expertise and experience to deliver assessments that can change the world.
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Animation Design and Production Lead to join our Mission Assessments team at BAE Systems. As a creative and technical expert, you will work with our study teams, product engineers, and leadership to produce technically accurate animations, infographics, and maps that showcase the value of BAE Systems products to customers, DoD leadership, and the warfighter.
