UVA Department of Student Health and Wellness is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to design the Stall Seat Journals . The intern will work directly with the Assistant and Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to creatively design eight issues of the Stall Seat Journal on topics such as substance safety, body image, alcohol, sleep and more.
The Stall Seat Journal, located in bathroom stalls in first-year housing and around grounds, is a social norms campaign correcting misperceptions about healthy behaviors. At UVA, most students are making healthy choices most of the time, but sometimes people underestimate healthy behaviors among their peers. The SSJ corrects misperceptions by providing accurate data highlighting healthy behaviors. Showcasing healthy choices frees students to make decisions that align with their values. This is based on social norms theory and is the foundation for several programs at UVA, including the Stall Seat Journal.
