      Job Description:

      ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

      Meow Wolf is proud to provide one of a kind experience to students through our internship program. To be eligible, students must be a New Mexico resident enrolled in college or university to apply.

      This is a full time internship. The candidate selected is expected to work remotely with occasional time in-person at Meow Wolf’s offices in Santa Fe. Students will be paid $18.00 per hour and have the opportunity to work with company leaders and experts in their field. The intern must be available for the duration of the internship, Monday, June 10, 2024 - Friday, August 16, 2024.

      WHAT WE OFFER OUR INTERNS

      • An hourly wage of $18.00.

      • College credit is available through their university upon request.

      • A letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the internship.

      • Support from a Meow Wolf mentor who is assigned to each student.

      • In-field experience and specialty training.

      • Access to Meow Wolf senior leadership, and the opportunity to grow and learn from industry experts and company leaders.

      WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY

      • A strong portfolio that demonstrates graphic design skills. You may attach a document with links.

      • Ability to occasionally commute to Santa Fe during the internship time period.

      • Discretion. Many of our projects are still a secret.

      • Commitment and self-directed initiative.

      • Availability within the hours of 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday.

      • Availability for the entire Internship duration from Monday, June 10, 2024 - Friday, August 16, 2024.

      The Visual Development Department touches all areas of Meow Wolf and develops deliverables for show, operations, marketing, brand, concepting, Blue Sky, etc. Projects range from wayfinding signage, to product labels, to narratively driven murals, to animations, to props, to social media marketing, and beyond. The team develops, designs, and refines ideas by applying creative direction to an iterative and deductive process that results in an accurate visual representation. The VisDev process starts with broad concepts and hones them down

      to a final, production-ready concept.

      How you will do it…

      The Visual Development Team includes Graphic Design and Concept Art. The Visual Development intern will support members of the team in developing and executing graphics, illustration, marketing, and/or web design.

      Additionally, the intern may have the opportunity to participate in the following types of work:

      • Shadow team members

      • Participate in work sessions

      • Creative Brainstorming and Ideation

      • Cross-department collaboration on deliverables

      • Setup production files

      • Workshopping deliverables with team members

      • Participate in the development of signage

      • Develop products

      • Other duties as assigned

      Learning Goals:

      • Learn how to do rapid ideation/thumbnail sketching for graphic design

      • Learn how to complete a project through a workflow from concept to production

      • Learn how to build and set up files for print and production

      • Learn how to work on a range of deliverables from digital to print or assembly, for story through marketing, and with a range of uses.

      • Learn how to effectively apply and manage brands (in-story brands and/or Meow Wolf’s brands)

      • Learn how to share working files and navigate shared folders
