Job Description

- Create high-quality, innovative, and creative design concepts for all marketing channels including, but not limited to, website content, digital advertising, print advertising, social media, signage, photos/videos, etc. for public information;
- Manage and maintain the City’s brand;
- Work with Communications & Marketing Division team to brainstorm ideas for communication platforms, campaigns, programs, events;
- Manage workflow for graphic design related projects;
- Create design and manage content for City’s annual review brochure;
- Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team;
- Collaborate with departments and divisions all graphic design needs;
- Maintain and organize graphic, photo and video drives and folders;
- Assist in the creation of copy for all marketing channels;
- Performs administrative duties and compiles data for special projects or reports as assigned;
- As a member of the marketing team, actively plays a role in promoting City services to the community through community-wide events and programs with flexibility to work minimal evenings and weekends.
- Prepare and/or process purchase orders
- Accountable for inventory and/or property management
- Determines scope of work, request for services, and other contractual expectations for services.
- Communications and marketing principles and practices
- Print and digital design media.
- Graphic design elements and tools
- Knowledge and understanding of layout, design and typography.
- Current trends and theories for marketing, branding and communications
- Social media tools including Facebook, Constant Contact, electronic publications and web related programs
- Office equipment, printing processes and preparing files for printing, including size guidelines.
- Adobe Suite Products (InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom), proficient.
- Canva, proficient.
- Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), proficient.
- Oral and written communication.
- Excellent command of grammar and ability to write, edit and proofread for accuracy.
- Use of Macbook, Apple Products, etc.
- Photography and videography.
- Photography and videography basic editing.
- On occasion, work a flexible work schedule that includes weekdays, weekends and evenings as needed.
- Work in a team atmosphere with excellent communication and collaboration.
- Manage tasks and deadlines in an organized and professional manner.
- Work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Adapt to changing priorities and exhibit flexibility.
- Manage multiple projects, deadlines and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in graphic or multimedia design. Alternatively, an associate degree in graphic design with at least four (4) years of related experience required.
- Three (3) years of experience in graphic design.
- Possession of a valid State of Florida Class ‘E’ driver’s license.

The Graphic Design Specialist’s prime responsibility is to create and produce creative print and digital marketing design concepts and materials as well as executing various photography and videography projects for the City and its respective departments/divisions. Under the supervision of the Communications & Marketing Manager, the position will provide flexibility with the opportunity for occasional remote work.
