Designs and creates graphic and marketing communication materials that consistently identify, drive and communicate services offered by departments within the Office of Student Life including but not limited to newsletters, brochures, invitations, schedules, manuals, web and other electronic materials, signage, multimedia presentations, displays, promotional item artwork and development and sponsorship materials; works with creative projects manager to determine creative direction, plans, estimates and timetables for projects; coordinates design process including production of artwork, submitting final layouts and designs for approval, securing of production estimates and keeping projects on schedule; adheres to and supports the Ohio State and Student Life visual identity guidelines; coordinates design phase of production; assists in development of archival systems for cataloging digital files; some nights and/or weekends may be required.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Required: Bachelors degree in design with visual communications major or degree from an accredited design or art institute with a graphic design major or equivalent combination of education and experience in a graphic design environment.
Desired: Computer proficiency on MAC-based platforms; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other layout programs; work experience and knowledge of design principles; knowledge of motion graphics using After Effects as well as knowledge of website/UI/UX creation; knowledge of professional printing standards and previous experience working with professional printers; higher education experience.Additional Information:
The starting pay range for this job profile: $19.51 - $26.05. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
