      1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or related arts degree is required.

      2. Training and Experience: Special training includes advanced knowledge of publication layout and the ability to use traditional and electronic mediums.

      3. Job Knowledge: Must be fluent in computer design and illustration programs, including InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of special design challenges of designing for digital and social media, appreciation of graphic design, knowledge of printing processes, and the knowledge of photography and videography. Strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of community relations, and awareness programs of hospital programs and events.

      DESCRIPTION:

      Works with and assists the Executive Director and Marketing Coordinators. Works with others in Marketing to develop graphic design for print materials, advertising, and various newsletters as well as skills in photography and videography. Video editing skills are a plus. The Graphic Designer must be able to work with many different departments on a large variety of projects simultaneously. Speed and accuracy are necessary. This person should have excellent communication skills and be able to articulate and adhere to Brand Standards and other Unity design guidelines.

      The position does not provide direct patient care. Coordinates materials involving other departments, physicians, and community organizations.

      Physical Effort: A great deal of sitting, walking, and lifting.

      Mental Effort: Considerable amount of mental effort and concentration required, primarily in planning and organizing own work and in assisting director and coordinator. A great deal of judgment is needed in coordinating activities within the department and between other departments. Must have good rapport dealing with hospital leaders, physicians, and the community.
