      Who we want

      We’re seeking an innovative and creative Graphic Designer II to join our Learning Design team at Mays Business School. In this role, you’ll lead the creation and execution of cutting-edge digital content that captivates and inspires action among faculty, students, and staff. Your work will support the digital learning environment by producing advanced graphic assets for online courses, training materials, visual analytics, and more. As a key contributor to our mission of expanding access to teaching and learning, you’ll shape the visual identity of educational content across multimedia, print, product packaging, and exhibitions. Your time-management and prioritization skills will add to your success as you model proficiency in designing, developing, and revising graphic content within deadlines. And you’ll stay ahead of industry trends, collaborate across teams, and bring bold ideas to life in a rewarding, fast-paced, impact-driven environment.

      What you need to know

      Salary: Compensation starting at $47,500 and will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience .

      Qualifications

      Required Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • Two years of professional experience in graphic design, including both print and digital media.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Advanced skill level using Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

      • Knowledge of word, presentation, and spreadsheet-type programs.

      • Knowledge of design principles and website design principles.

      • Strong leadership and project management skills.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in graphics design or Fine Arts
      • Four years of experience in design, including print and digital media.
      • Experience working within brand guides or standards.
      • Experience with project management or using a project management tool.
      • Experience working with clients and incorporating creative direction.
      • Experience leading design projects from concept to completion.
      • Ability to create files to print and digital specifications.
      • Excellent time management skills.
      • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for prototyping.
      • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
      • Ability to design and develop original content.
      • Proficiency in designing, developing, and revising graphic content within deadlines.
      • Knowledge of visual communication principles, practices, techniques, industry standards, and trends. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.

      Essential Duties/Tasks

      Graphic Design, Development, and Production

      • Collaborates with the Learning Design team to create engaging content.

      • Develop components of the design process, including defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics (e.g., illustrations, logos, layouts, photographs).

      • Shape and enhance the visual identity of learning elements, multi- and print media, product packaging, and exhibitions.

      • Act as an experienced resource in graphics software, hardware, and techniques.

      • Provide and follow creative direction for advanced graphic designs for print and multimedia channels.

      • Develop complex illustrations, logos, and other design elements using software or by hand.

      • Creates motion graphics for use in multimedia presentations.

      • Design and produce high-quality graphics for video media.

      Project Management

      • Lead design projects, ensuring alignment with goals and timelines.

      • Use project management systems to document progress, allocate resources, and maintain documentation.

      • Develop detailed project plans and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

      • Mentor team members on project management and design processes.

      • Establish and enforce design standards and quality control processes.

      • Maintain a robust digital asset library, implementing version control and access protocols.

      Information Awareness

      • Follow industry trends through professional networks, blogs, e-newsletters, and social media.

      • Implement innovative design techniques and share best practices.

      • Participate in professional development opportunities such as conferences, workshops, and webinars.

      • Conduct competitive analysis and collaborate with cross-industry experts to integrate relevant strategies.
