      Graphic Designer

      Summary

      PaintCare seeks a creative and detail-oriented graphic designer to produce high quality visual content that promotes our paint recycling program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, proficiency in design software, and the ability to translate ideas into visually appealing designs. The role is part of PaintCare’s communications team and reports to the vice president of communications.

      Responsibilities

      • Create visually compelling graphics for digital and print media, including websites, social media, advertisements, brochures, signage, and more.
      • Collaborate with the communications team and other PaintCare staff to develop and execute design concepts that align with brand guidelines and marketing strategies.
      • Prepare and present design proposals to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making necessary revisions.
      • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve design quality and effectiveness.
      • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
      • Work closely with other team members to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions.
      • Maintain digital asset management system, design files archive, and brand usage guidelines.
      • Produce creative briefs, proposals, storyboards, and project descriptions.
      • Prepare files for print and digital distribution.
      • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field.
      • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects.
      • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
      • Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
      • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with team members.
      • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
      • Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

      Qualifications

      Preferred Skills

      • Some experience with motion graphics and video editing software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro).
      • Experience in branding and identity design.
      • Ability to convert designs into HTML5.

      Location and Travel

      This position is located at ACA headquarters in Washington, D.C. and will operate within a hybrid work environment (working both onsite and remotely). Occasional overnight travel throughout the U.S. will be required to meet with local partners and program staff, attend meetings, and support creative production.

      Employment, Salary and Benefits

      This is a full time, regular position. Salary depends on experience, but on estimate can range from $68,000 to $85,000. PaintCare, through the ACA, provides generous benefits [401(k), vacation days, medical, dental, and life insurance] and reimbursement for travel expenses.
