POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing students with the processes involved in the technologies of printing, publishing, packaging, electronic imaging, and their allied industries. In addition, the candidate should have a range of cognitive skills, aesthetics, and crafts that includes typography, visual arts, and page layout, cover electronic systems and software programs used in graphic design, page composition, image conversion, and digital printing. Knowledge and skills in digital design and imaging will be enhanced by this candidate through experiences that simulate the graphic design industry and school-based and work-based learning opportunities for students. All state standards CTAE, Academic and CTSO standards are evident in the daily teaching environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intentional and purposeful planning of instructional materials based on standards CTAE, Academic, CTSO standards and busIness/industry trends.
Assesses and monitors student performance to ensure pathway completion and end of the pathway assessment attainment.
Maintains the Perkins Compliance mandates: annual supply/equipment budget, current teaching certificate, CTSO experiences/exposure, advisory committee records, professional learning, industry certification records, and equipment inventory artifacts.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Hold an associate’s degree or higher from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution in graphic design; advertising design; communication design; commercial art; graphic arts; visual communication; computer animation; print management; or a GaPSC-determined equivalent.
Have at least two (2) years of occupational work experience in the field; in graphic design; advertising design; communication design; commercial art; graphic arts; visual communication; computer animation; print management. Knowledge of web development languages, data manipulation languages and methodologies including Java, HTML, CSS, ASP, JavaScript, VB.NET, SQL, and other relative resources acceptable.
Must have working knowledge of graphic arts programs such as Adobe Creative Suites.
