Job Description

- Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding grocery operations, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain proper shelf, case, and display conditions, including stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating product
- Ensure safe and clean floor conditions, including sweeping, mopping, and clearing all unsafe conditions
- Help keep the backroom clean and orderly by organizing grocery area, and making bales (Must be 18 years of age).
- Follow direction of the Grocery Manager and MOD, inform appropriate people if any problems arise
- Retrieve carts when needed
- Assist with cashing/ bagging, and performing price checks where applicable
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
- Possess basic computer skills
- Possess strong communication skills
- Baler/compactor (must be 18 years of age)
- Case cutter (must be 16 years of age)
- Pallet jacks (must be 18 years of age)
- Marking gun
- Computer
- Walkie Stacker (must be 18 years of age)
- Ladder (must be 16 yrs of age)
SUMMARY
The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Grocery Clerk is responsible for handling grocery products, including full knowledge of product line and location. Clerk receives, cuts, marks, transports, and shelves product. Clerk is also responsible for providing attentive and friendly customer service by assisting customers with questions and escorting customer to service desk for further assistance if needed.
