Job Description
- Req#: 21260
- Inspects, services, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and overhauls all components including the following: truck chassis, body, and drive-train components on a diverse body of equipment.
- Responsible for electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, painting, bodywork, and technical work.
- Completes data entry to record work assignments and will communicate with other Company personnel as needed.
- Practices safety-conscious and environmentally conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Must be in good standing in current position (no formal performance development – Written Coaching Letter, Corrective or Final Action Notice, within the past 6 months). Has not transferred in the past six months from current department in current station. This requirement can be waived for promotional opportunities such as SA to CSA/CXA or CSA/CXA to Specialty CSA/CXA.
- Be current role for at least 1 year if transferring from outside of the ACS/CGO/Clean/GSE division. Currently on active status, however, if are on an inactive status, you may be eligible to transfer if returned to active status prior to the transfer date.

- High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including fixed or rotating shifts, both indoors and outdoors, including traveling, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Have a minimum of three years of demonstrated ability.
- Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to and including 50 pounds and occasionally lift items between 50 and 70 pounds.
- Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents and manuals.
- A detailed understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic subject areas.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents, manuals, and schematics.
- Strong communication while working as a team and coordinating repairs with other GMTs and outside vendors.
- Respond to customers' needs with minimum direction and perform repairs in time-sensitive situations.

External Applicants Only - Ground Maintenance Technicians hired to work at the JFK airport receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus after one year of employment (effective June 1, 2023).
This a full-time position within Delta's Ground Support Equipment (GSE) division specializing in vehicle/heavy equipment mechanic, repairing vehicles and a variety of airport systems and equipment. Ground Maintenance Technicians inspect, repair, troubleshoot, service, and overhaul the motorized ground support equipment owned and operated by Delta. Technicians repair and perform maintenance on mix of motorized equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, controls, and safety systems on vehicles, as well as bodywork and other technical work.
