      Job Summary

The Ground Operations (Ground Ops) Device Support Consultant delivers on our Purpose by supporting our frontline employees with device and vendor management and ensuring our stations have the equipment to run the operation with a standardized process in place. This role will partner with internal Customers by innovating new processes, developing strategic plans, and implementing continuous process improvements for our Ground Operations’ mobile devices deployed across the System. The Ground Ops Device Support Consultant is a strategic problem solv er , who is ready to drive the future of Southwest’s Ground Operations.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

      Responsibilities
      • Assist in the research, analysis, and development support of comprehensive and scalable processes and tools to manage Ground Ops mobile devices deployed for operational use. The devices include, but are not limited to: radios, headsets, ramp scanners, tablet computers, and mobile carts deployed to the Stations.
      • Serve as a change advocate by demonstrating behaviors that support new direction, and encourage stakeholders to think beyond current state processes to foster innovation
      • Identify areas of improvement through an understanding of operational insights, current and future needs, and root cause
      • Assist in the development, advancement, and maintenance the device management standards, practices and governance by delivering plans, business cases and presentations for projects/initiatives that articulate value/ROI and map to vision; ensuring alignment with Corporate PMO, Technology LACE, and LPM standards
      • Ensure alignment with product and device support functions in other departments, to include, but not limited to: Operations, Technology, Customer Service, Commercial and Strategy Departments
      • Maintain device refresh & upgrade schedules according to Company guidelines and ensure proper forecasting with FP&A Leadership
      • Build strong, collaborative relationships and credibility with various Teams and stakeholders
      • Monitors project risks, issues, and scope ensuring the appropriate level of priority, visibility, escalation, and mitigation
      • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

      Education
      • Required: High School Diploma or GED

      Experience
      • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
        • Business analysis and strategy
        • Operations and Supply Chain experience

      Licensing/Certification
      • N/A

      Physical Abilities
      • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
      • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
      • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
      • Ability to move/transport 25 lbs on a regular basis (over 50%)
      • Ability to raise 25 lbs on a regular basis (over 50%)
      • Ability to move in a prone position on or near the ground without standing
      • Ability to extend and secure objects in front/above/below/beside oneself
      • Ability to traverse from one location to another
      • Ability to perform assigned duties in outdoor and inclement weather conditions

      Other Qualifications
      • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
      • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
      • Must be at least 18 years of age
      • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
      • Extended work hours and some weekends may occasionally be required to meet project deadlines or to resolve urgent production issues and system deployments
      • Limited travel with potential for increased/decreased travel based upon Ground Operations Department needs

      Pay & Benefits:

      Competitive market salary from $102,500 per year to $113,900 per

      year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
