      Summary

      Across our beautiful campus at Hoosier Village, the Grounds Technician performs a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the grounds and the related equipment. The grounds and related equipment will be maintained by performing the following duties:

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • Performs mowing, trimming, weed control, and fertilizing of facility properties.
      • Plants trees, shrubs, flowers, grass seed, and pulls weeds in the gardens and flower beds.
      • Trims shrubs and trees. Removes dead ones as needed.
      • Waters grounds in dry season and as needed.
      • Sweeps walkways and shovels snow.
      • Cleans, scrapes, and paints such objects as fences, benches, concrete walls, etc.
      • Repairs, cleans, lubricates, and stores equipment, tools, and fixtures.
      • Cleans and maintains storage areas.
      • Participates in the preventive maintenance program as defined by the director of environmental services.
      • May be directed to supervise a work project to completion on outside grounds.

      Qualifications

      • 1-3 years experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance
