      The Groundskeepers I performs unskilled and semi-skilled landscaping duties for the Tribal Government grounds.
      1. Responsible for assisting in the overall maintenance of landscaped areas throughout Tribal Government facilities and grounds.
      2. Provide general care of trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass.
      3. Maintain irrigation drip systems; removes trash and debris for assigned areas.
      4. Note any damage or hazards, repair minor damage and correct hazardous conditions.
      5. Remove weeds from planted areas; treat, condition soil, and plant in accordance with established schedules.
      6. Replace defective or broken drip system heads, remove obstructions from drip system components and make minor adjustments to valves, heads and controls.
      7. Operate power mowers, chain saws, power clippers, rollers, spreaders, and similar equipment.
      8. Provide burial services for the community.
      9. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.
      Knowledge of:
      • Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.

      Skills and Abilities:
      • Plant, cultivate and care for shrubs and flowers and/or a willingness to learn;
      • The use of equipment and tools of the trade and/or a willingness to learn;
      • The proper application of chemicals and/or a willingness to learn;
      • Use hand and power tools and equipment effectively and safely;
      • Work outside in varying weather conditions;
      • Handle exposure to chemical fumes, loud noises, and heights;
      • Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications;
      • Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written working structions.
      No specific education or experience required, must be able to read instructions.

      AND
      • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

      Special Requirements:
      • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;
      • This position may be required to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends;
      • Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card, or be able to obtain one within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.
