      The Homeland Sensors and Analytics Group builds technology to counter threats to our critical infrastructure, land and maritime borders, transportation systems, and public places. We focus on the development and fielding of advanced sensors, AI and data analytics, and integrated human-machine decision making to help recognize and disrupt these threats. We specialize in collecting and processing a wide range of data types — including radar, video, imagery, text, point cloud, transactional, and body-worn sensor data — from both commercial and Laboratory-developed sensors. We often apply advanced machine learning methods to convert raw data into actionable insights about the activities of threat actors, networks, or organizations. Our ultimate goal is to field solutions that significantly enhance the decision-making process of analysts and operators who secure the homeland.       Job Description

      The Homeland Protection Systems Group and the Homeland Sensors and Analytics Group currently have a summer student position for a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst will be a member of the Business Manager Team and will work among two groups, attend meetings and receive required training. This individual will assist various aspects of the Business Manager daily workload as well as take on special projects as assigned. The selected candidate will identify customer requirements and perform the required administrative tasks, research and data analysis to make decisions and obtain stakeholder input and concurrence in support of assigned projects. This individual must have strong business acumen and analytical skills in addition to demonstrated experience working with various types of data using spreadsheets and other business applications.

      Requirements

      • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program preferably in Business Administration, Business Management or related field

      • Strong Analytical/computer skills, a developed skill set with MS Word and Excel

      • Demonstrated track record of effectively working with highly detailed documents

      • Demonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas written and orally

      • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

      • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

      Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
