- Set the strategic priorities for the equity index business segment in the Americas in alignment with the broader business, alongside key partners across sales & marketing, research and technology
- Lead a team of impactful product managers to drive growth in collaboration with key internal and external partners, growing the P&L
- Lead on coordination and planning of an aligned regional equity index strategy, aligning with key internal and external collaborators.
- Work with senior leadership in sales to develop specific strategic account plans to increase growth in line with the overall business objectives
- Day-to-day management of the regional product team
- Develop and implement operating and tactical plans alongside sales & marketing to help drive sales, adoption and growth of the regional business
- Identify and lead on opportunities to collaborate globally across Product to drive broader index adoption and ecosystem development
- Lead new product launches in coordination with clients, partners, and colleagues across the business
- Collaborate with the regional sales teams to ensure adequate Product support and that the sales teams are proficient in the value proposition and are improving revenue potential
- At least 15 years within the financial services industry
- MBA and/or CFA desirable
- Proven understanding of indexing and indexed financial products
- Product expertise in funds, ETFs listed and OTC derivatives
- Strong regional network amongst buy-side and sell-side
- Experienced at assessing, negotiating, and closing sophisticated commercial agreements
- Positive relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Results focused global team-player with a strong partner management and influencing style
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Strong commercial and strategic mentality combined with the ability to implement efficiently and proactively
- Quantitative and analytical skills, attention to detail, and understanding how to prioritise and lead projects effectively
- Team leadership, management and development skills
Role Profile
The Group Director, Head of Equity Index Product, Americas is a key leadership role within the FTSE Russell Equity Product team. The role has an overarching responsibility for the day to day management, strategic direction and financial performance of the Americas equity index business.
As the Americas regional product head, you will develop a team of product managers who will drive the strategy, execution and growth of the equity index business in the US, and the Americas more broadly. Based in New York, this role will report into the Global Head of Equity Index Product.
In coordination with the global product team, you will be responsible for leading, developing and mentoring a hard-working product management team. You will work with the team on setting and driving the regional business growth strategy across key client, product, and business segments, as well as working alongside them to achieve results.
You’ll focus on working alongside key internal collaborators (for e.g. sales & marketing, research and technology) on development, and rolling out the business strategy. The role will involve all aspects of business and product management as well as effective team leadership to accelerate growth in the region.
