The Weld County Regional Communications Center is searching for a Guard Terminal Specialist.The Guard Terminal Specialist is a highly detail and process-oriented professional who plays a crucial role in organizing, managing, and maintaining sensitive criminal justice information. The Guard Terminal Specialist work with data related to wanted and missing persons, runway juveniles, stolen vehicles and property, protection and other court orders, local wants, trespass orders, and offer safety information. $26.04 - $32.99 per hour plus benefits (see benefits tab on the job posting).As an applicant for this position, you should be aware of Senate Bill 19-085, the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The act requires employers to announce the pay range for job openings. This range encompasses the nine pay steps available should you receive the position and demonstrate satisfactory performance over time. This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.We anticipate a start date of May 27, 2024.The following job duties are established to outline the basic duties and responsibilities of the above captioned position. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Data Entry & Management:• Responsible for maintaining police-related data in reference to wanted or missing persons; stolen, recovered, or impounded vehicles; and other stolen property with complete confidentiality.• Complete high priority tasks within required timeframes.• Frequently queries information and sends teletypes through CCIC/NCIC.• Correctly input data into OpenFox.• Responsible for maintaining Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance as well as compliance with State and Local government policies.• Performs routine audits on active warrants and hot files.• Complete daily quality assurance on pending files before forwarding the necessary documents to the appropriate departments.Assisting Law Enforcement Personnel• Accurately and professionally obtain information from user agencies via phone calls and email.• Electronically route information to officers, outside agencies, county and municipal records departments, and the state courts.• Interact and collaborate with user agencies and other records departments.Other Duties as Assigned:• Assist with requested recordings as needed.• Follow WCRCC policies and procedures and Weld County Code.• Maintain availability to work all shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays) with hours and days off subject to change, sometimes on short notice.• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours.• Other duties may be assigned. Any one position may not include all duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • A high school diploma or GED, AND;• Minimum typing speed of 25 wpm, AND;• At least 2 years of experience in an administrative support role.• Must pass a background check and substance abuse screening prior to employment start date. • Excellent organization and prioritization skills. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Familiarity with Windows based computer programs. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Previous experience working with criminal justice information systems and data. • CCIC Certification.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED:• Must possess a valid driver’s license at hire and maintain a valid license for the duration of employment.• Must be able to obtain Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC) Certification within two weeks of hire and maintain certification for the duration of employment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, controls, or equipment, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit.
