Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Perform daily tasks in all-weather environments
Work 12hr shift plus 0.5-1.5 hour commute each way
Work with limited to no supervision
Work away from home with no set schedule of start and end dates for projects
Proficiency in trigonometry
Ability to hike through heavy snow with steep valleys/hills while carrying 15kg of gear and/or pulling 300m of 10-gauge cable
Ability to lift/load 30kg pelican cases into vehicle and carry across work locations
Work with a wide variety of cliental
Able to problem solve with little to no outside assistance
Strong people skills
Land Surveying with Total Station and GPS
Computer proficiency including AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
Previous HDD experience
Customer Service experience
Construction experience
Degree in Engineering

Guidance Field Engineer
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Inrock Drilling Systems is one of the world’s largest tooling and service providers serving the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) industry. Inrock has been in business since 1993 and a part of Sandvik Group since 2018. We provide tools and services to HDD contractors globally to help them install infrastructure pipelines transporting water, sewer, oil, gas, electric and fiber underneath geological and man-made obstacles. We are currently looking to add more guidance engineers to our Canadian based service team to keep up with the demands of this growing industry.
Job Summary
As a Guidance Field Engineer at Inrock, you will be joining a growing team to provide customers with exceptional service at locations throughout North America, and occasionally the world. You will be responsible for performing a land survey and creating a bore plan, then providing sound advice and direction to clients directly at their job sites to guide them safely past any obstacles and within specified tolerances. Full training is provided so no experience is required. Must be willing to travel anywhere, occasionally for lengthy periods of time on often short notice.
*Travel Required: 100% - 180-250 days on the road depending on the workload for the year.
